My Story
She was never meant to fit the slipper.She was meant to build the kingdom.
Once upon a time there was a girl who got everything in life: the good grades, the good finance degree, the good marriage, the good life. Rumor has it she lived happily ever after.
But that wasn't me.
The Beginning
The girl who didn't quite fit in.
I was a late bloomer — the chubby, nerdy tomboy who was nowhere near the beauty standards and nothing close to what an Asian household expected. I've learned to accept myself, but the world around me never did and kept demanding more.
My standards were set high and when they noticed it they bullied me until I made myself smaller. So I lowered the bar. Poured into everyone else. Gave until giving became my whole identity.
Until even I wasn't enough.
The Breaking Point
Then Covid hit.
I was already running on empty and then I caught the worst strain. For three years my body fought to survive. And still the world kept asking for more.
In that moment I made a decision — I was done. Done showing up for everyone who never showed up for me.
I let go and never looked back.
I was never the problem.
"The Becoming
So I went within.
One by one, I plucked things out of my life. The noise. The people. Everything that was never mine to carry. And in that space I finally found peace.
My passions came back slowly as I became safe enough to express them. I created my own wellness company. And then I built this hub — out of desperation for a different path — the kind of life they said girls like me could never step into.
And just like that, ends my fairytale story and the beginning of yours.
